We're two stories!

The second story is up, as is the frame of the roof and beginnings of one of the dormers. We're definitely in the 'Wow that's BIG' stage. So are our neighbors, we're hearing 'hey I can see your house from the top of the street now!' Ours is not going to be the tallest on the street nor is there a lack of taller homes but it's definitely in the "skyline" now.

It's important to mention at this point that the folks that poured the foundation poured it four feet deeper than it was supposed to be...so we actually do have a bigger house than we thought we would!! We can live with that ;0

Here are a couple of shots from the back:

Here's Duke inspecting the work on the first floor. He also had fun earlier inspecting the alley for chicken bones that some workmen tossed after lunch...yuck!

This looks like the I-beam floor joists supported by the back wall of the existing house. Does this make this a load-bearing wall? Seems to be bearing this load but that could be a term reserved for even more important walls than this....Dunno, but I bet the remarkably large number of architects, builders and building hobbyists that are reading this blog could tell us!

Here is Shannon, contemplating where other load-bearing walls might be located...

Here's the attic stair from the back bathroom, this is how we got up to the second floor. Looking forward to that contraption being GONE!
