Concrete has been poured and brrr it's COLD!

The concrete slab was poured Wednesday in a "monolithic pour."

From the Delaware Department of Land Use: (you know, if you really want to get the "right" answer, you must always of course go to Delaware...)
There are two basic types of foundations: the monolithic pour and the standard footer and block foundation. A monolithic pour is a combined footer and slab poured all at once. A footer and block foundation is one where a concrete footing is poured, blocks are then laid and, finally, the concrete slab is poured.
So another part of the story is that we were worried because the weather forecast showed it was going to be like this

and we didn't want our slab to end up looking like this

So we mentioned it to the builder and learned that there are methods that allow for pouring concrete in cold weather conditions, such as additives/accelerators and also simple insulation techniques. We gleaned that some of these additives were in fact added and then for one night the concrete was covered with a hay and a cement blanket.

Two days later the blanket is off and it looks good so far!
